CHAI for Men
The chai (tea) is on at The Salvation Army - Multicultural Family Centre this summer!
Starting July 8, there will be nine weeks of meaningful topical discussions that speak to the expressed needs of newcomer men as well as a social time of community building and support. Bus tickets are provided.

Summer Reading Club
This year's jungle theme offers lots of fun for pre-school and school age children. Children come in to any library to register for the program. They receive a free reading log to track their summer reading, activity booklet and more. Special programs are also on offer at all libraries, and special performances. Note: the programs and performances are not intended for large group bookings. Space is limited and registration required for performances. All programs are free. Farm Day - September 19th, 2010
Manitobans will have the opportunity to visit one of many Manitoba farms taking part in the province's first Open Farm Day on Sept. 19, Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives (MAFRI) Minister Stan Struthers announced today. "Open Farm Day will be a great opportunity for farmers and visitors to connect with each other," said Struthers. "The public can tour a farm to see up close how a farm runs and participating farmers can showcase their operations, sell produce, highlight farm business life and educate Manitobans about locally produced food and Manitoba's agriculture industry."

Manitoba Provincial Parks
Most campgrounds will open the weekend before the May long weekend - others will open on the May long weekend. Reservation service will open on April 15th at 7:30am. Entry to Manitoba Parks is FREE again for 2010 (no park pass required).

SunShine Fund
The Sunshine Fund enables Manitoba children who do not have the financial means through parents, guardians or agencies, an opportunity to attend an accredited Manitoba summer camp.
If you would like to apply for assistance from the Sunshine Fund for sending your child to camp, please use the link at the top of the page to download an application and follow these instructions.
Upon approval, the Sunshine Fund will provide financial subsidy for a single camp session per child, to a maximum value of $700 per child ($1,050 if attending a camp session that is 15 days or more).

My Eyes are Yours
St. Vital Shopping Centre - Free Service
Many people have family or friends living with varying degrees of vision loss. They might be interested to know that the service, My Eyes are Yours, is still available at the St Vital Shopping Centre.
A volunteer will accompany Blind or Vision Impaired persons and assist then with shopping anywhere in the Mall for up to a 2 hour period. Call 257-5646 ahead of time to book an appointment.
